This course is conducted over 3 Thursday evenings...with a break for Thanksgiving in between.

 

November 17 - Own Your Brand (Personal Edition)

Session One: What makes us different? Difference is the force that breaks conventional expectations. The marketplace "thinks" it knows what you do and who you are; an effective brand will surprise and prove wrong these assumptions. The force of difference is formed with courage and determination. It's time you become the creative professional you're capable of being.

December 1 - Own Your Brand (Personal Edition)

Session Two: How do you invite the world to experience your value generating relevance? Contagious relevance is the power of deep empathy and it is exceedingly rare among professionals and experts. This force is released once we have become keen observers and students of those who rely upon us as marketplace professionals. The pursuit of relevance is never ending because relevance is a moving target. What is valued today will not be relevant a year later. The brand building professional is forever a student of client need.

December 8 -  Own Your Brand (Personal Edition)

Session Three: Purpose the force that energizes the branded professional and it is the most elusive. Nearly all know "what" they do and offer. And many know "how" they do what they do. But few know their "why"! Purpose motivates daily work. Purpose gives us the courage to say, “I refuse go quit”. The sticking power of a branded professional is to be found in the force of purpose.

Combine purpose with a sense of ownership and you are about to become a brand to be reckoned with. Ownership distinguishes a brand owner from a brand renter. A brand owner displays the same kind of initiative, accountability and pride we associate with all forms of genuine ownership. "Renters" have excuses for not acting in the moment, for not accepting their failure and for not caring. Evidence of ownership is found in the daily, unseen disciplines of successful professionals. The defining moment for a brand owner is when things go wrong. Their willingness to care, act and try when others merely watch brands them in the eyes of colleagues, employers and clients.
